How would you recruit a team to altar the course of history? How would you begin?

Jesus walked by a lake and said, “FOLLOW ME.” He had an uncommon mission for twelve common men. No rabbi. No scholar. No religious superiority. No extraordinary talents. Amazingly, Jesus selected a handful of common fisherman, a hated tax collector, and an impulsive political zealot. The stunning reality is that the men He chose were ordinary. They were hopelessly human and remarkably unremarkable—a ragtag bunch of men with unimpressive resumes. But they were available and obedient to the Master’s call. They were ordinary people with hopes and dreams, willing to leave their lives behind to follow the Savior. People like you.

They couldn’t comprehend the power of God.

They struggled with their own sins. They found faith.

They wrestled with the cost of commitment.

They discovered real influence.

Their mission was too great for them to possibly accomplish.

Yet, somehow they ignited the world with the message of the Gospel. How did they become a force that forever changed the world? By living under Jesus’ teaching and touch. It’s the same call Jesus gives you. It’s in life’s everyday and commonplace activities where Jesus works. If Christ can accomplish His purposes through the lives of common people like His first disciples, imagine what He has in store for you!

Once you slow down and look for Jesus Christ, you’ll see that He’s changing you, shaping you, and inviting you…to follow Him.
