PROSPERITY, HOPE AND A FUTURE

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, o give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV)

It is normal for us all to occasionally have cloudy days as a result of disappointments, heartaches, loneliness and/or sadness causing us to despair either about our own life or for a friend or loved one. When you find yourself in one of those valleys of sorrow feeling insecure, rejected or unloved, we must remind ourselves of our loving Heavenly Father.

First, begin thinking about the birds of the air. They begin each day searching just for enough food to eat that day. They do not store for tomorrow as their heavenly Father provides each day. He cares for them and even knows when one sparrow falls. God’s statement that “the very hairs of your head are numbered” is full assurance of His special providence to His disciples for “you are of more value than many sparrows.” As He so provides for them and clothes the fields with flowers, He cares much for you, so rejoice in gladness that your Heavenly Father values you greatly in His sight and sees you as a precious example of His light unto others.

Remember, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Pray to God and He will listen and you will find Him when you seek Him with all your heart.

Secondly, to restore sunny days to your life and lift your spirits go out and personally give some joy to someone who is in need or is less fortunate preferably to someone who can not repay your gift or act of kindness. You will then see that when you give joy unto others, a little rubs off on yourself. It is then we begin to understand one of the blessings of giving rather than receiving. Our lives become fuller when we are more involved in doing rather than in being. We do because Christ is worthy. Following God’s plans will guarantee you success every time. God will take care of you giving you earthly peace and joy now in this time and in the world to come, eternal life (Mark 10:29, 30).
