“Go near and overtake the chariot.” (Acts 8:29 NKJV)

The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake the chariot.” Meanwhile, as Peter was puzzling over the vision, the Holy Spirit said to him, “Behold three men are seeking you. Arise therefore, go down and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them” (Acts 10:19-20 NKJV).

Sent out by the Holy Spirit, Saul and Barnabas went down to the seaport. (Acts 13:4)

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe that the Holy Spirit has ever tapped one of my friends on the shoulder, pointed at me, and said, “That old boy is on a slippery slope. Go over there and give him a hand.” Yet, when I look back over my life, I can’t remember a time when I really needed support that a member of the family of God was not there to ease me over the rough spots.

It seems to me that our lives are like little pieces of cloth, the quality of which is determined by the threads of other lives that are tightly woven about our own. My little piece of cloth is bright, colorful, and strong because of you.

Share each other’s troubles and problems, and in this way obey the law of Christ (Gal. 6:2).

When others are happy, be happy with them. If they are said, share their sorrow (Rom. 12:15).
