UNTO THESE HILLS
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills…from whence comes my help.” (Psalms 121:1 NKJV)
Summer brings lovely gardens, and in our valley between the hills, animals will be grazing and many more beautiful flowers of different colors will spring up.
In autumn, the hills will be covered with leaves of breath-taking colors, lovely for all to behold. Soon after this, the leaves will turn brown again and fall off the trees and upon the ground. Snow will soon follow, and children will be sledding down these hills.
Oh, what changes we observe in just a year’s time!
Anyone viewing such a panorama as this can not doubt that God, creator of the universe, is watching over us and giving us strength and protection from all harm.
Dear God, help us to appreciate the hills and valleys around us and to know You are always near. We look unto the hills for Your serenity and help in time of distress and trouble from the world in which we live.
