FORGIVENESS OF SINS
(Acts 13:33)
Forgiveness of sins and the knowledge of it are features common to the whole family of God (1 John 2:12)
1. It is a Divine forgiveness – God Himself has lifted the mighty load from off the conscience, saying, “I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions” (Is. 43:25)
2. It is a personal forgiveness – The Savior, Who spoke to the weeping penitent at His feet, said to me, “Thy sins are forgiven” (Luke 7:48)
3. It is a frank forgiveness – No reserve in His blessed heart – “He frankly forgave them both” (Luke 7:42)
4. It is an eternal forgiveness and forgetfulness – The Holy Ghost has come from heaven as God’s witness to us, saying, “Their sins and iniquities will I remember no more” (Heb. 10:17)
5. It is forgiveness for Christ’s sake – It must, therefore, be complete, perfect, and God-like in character – “Your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake” (1 John 2:12)
Our sins are all forgiven, forgotten, purged, borne, and cast behind Jehovah’s back

In Galatians 5:22, 23
1. “Love” – This is the cluster of spiritual graces condensed and concentrated into one; Love is the fulfilling of the law, and includes every jot and title of its requirements
“Joy and Peace” – Here follow eight different ways in which love exhibits itself; The first two, what it produces in the one who shows it; It fills him with heavenly gladness
2. “Longsuffering and Gentleness” – How love expresses itself when under fire; The pressure of adverse circumstances only brings out its excellencies; It over-comes evil with good
3. “Goodness and Fidelity” – The quiet and reliable ways of love in the ordinary avocations of life; It can always be depended upon to fulfill its duty; How painstaking and satisfactory
4. “Meekness and Self-control” – The bridle love puts upon the natural dispositions; The girdle to keep rising tempers and passions in check; It puts its grip upon selfishness and elevates the moral tone, delivering from the grovellings in the dust of earthliness, which characterizes fallen man
FORGIVENESS OF SINS
(Acts 13:38)
Forgiveness of sins and the knowledge of it are features common to the whole family of God (1 John 2:12). All are equally forgiven, and all are equally justified from all things and from all changes.
1. It is a Divine forgiveness – God Himself has lifted the mighty load from off the conscience, saying, “I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions” (Is. 43:25)
2. It is a frank forgiveness – No reserve in His blessed heart: “He frankly forgave them both” (Luke 7:42)
3. It is a personal forgiveness – The Savior, who spoke to the weeping penitent at His feet, said, “thy sins are forgiven” (Luke 7:48)
4. It is an eternal forgiveness and forgetfulness – The Holy Ghost has come from heaven as God’s witness to us, saying, “their sins and iniquities will I remember no more” (Heb. 10:17)
5. It is forgiveness for Christ’s sake – It must, therefore, be complete, perfect and God-like in character; “Your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake” (1 John 2:12)
Our sins are forgiven, forgotten, purged, borne, and cast behind Jehovah’s back. Blessed be God, the sins of all who simply believe and obey Christ are forgiven!

Four things to be done “at all times”:
a. “Trust in Him at all times” (Ps. 62:8); b. “I will bless the Lord at all times” (Ps. 34:1); c. “Long for God’s judgments at all times” (Ps. 119:20); d. “He that doeth righteousness at all times” (Ps. 106:3)
The presentation of the believer in three aspects:
a. By God Himself in glory with exceeding joy (Jude 24); b. By Christ to Himself without spot or wrinkle (Eph. 5:27); c. By God’s servants as to their responsibility (2 Cor. 11:2; Col. 12:28)
Two results flowing from the fixed heart:
a. The fixed heart is a singing heart (Ps. 108:1); b. The fixed heart is a fearless heart (Ps. 112:7); c. The unfixed heart is an evil heart (2 Chron. 12:14, margin) and will surely lead to the fixed gulf (Luke 16:26)
